July 2026 – It’s Time to Water the Plants

Crystal Sturgill   -
I Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
Have you ever planted a garden, planted some flowers at your house or just had a pot of flowers on your porch and went away or been so buy that you’ve forgotten to water those plants? The obvious result will be that they begin to wither and die, or if you caught it too late, then they have died already.
Scripture teaches us that there is a multifaceted process to church growth: plantingwatering and increase. The first two is the church’s responsibility; Paul planted and Apollos watered. Without those two steps there can be no increase. Oftentimes we do a good job of planting. We meet somebody at the store or a need is brought to us and we begin to minister. Over time, there is no increase and we forget about it and move on. However, the planting stage is only the first stage and the watering stage must happen regularly. This is the equivalent of forgetting to water your plants.
I’m challenging you, and reminding you, that it’s s time to water the plants. It’s time for you to go to somebody that you have ministered to in the past and water the seed that has been planted. It’s time to go to somebody the Lord leads you to and water the seed. If you don’t water it, ultimately what has been planted will die, and that person could be lost for eternity. We must never forget that the Lord is coming for His church. We have got to be busy planting & watering, but we can’t do one without the other. We know that if we will do that, God will bring the increase.
