August 2026 – 9:00 a.m. Initiative

Acts 3:1 – Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer being the 9th hour. This is a scripture that we have preached much from over the years, but I feel something is important enough to bring to your attention one more time. We’re inviting all church members, visitors and anybody else that would be interested, to join us in our new 9:00 a.m. initiative. The Lord put this in my spirit recently for our church, and I feel passionately about it.

The disciples went to the temple at the hour of prayer. There was a designated time that they went to pray. If we don’t set time aside deliberately, we will never have a prayer life, as many of you may know. Satan will see to that through distraction, fatigue or just flesh. The Bible says in the beginning that God walked with Adam and Eve in the garden in the cool of the day. Adam and Eve had a conversation with God first thing EVERY DAY; therefore, I am encouraging our church to strengthen your relationship with Jesus through your prayer life.

I’m asking you to make the commitment that you will pray a minimum of 5 minutes a day before 9:00 a.m. It can be longer, but it cannot be shorter. I believe this benchmark will help us to achieve our goal or prayer EVERY DAY. Make a determination that you will find 5 minutes of prayer time before you walk out of the door, no matter how early. I will do better before 9:00 a.m. in the morning. Will you join is in our 9:00 a.m. initiative?
